An Evening with “Pinot” at Wesley House

Friday 31st January, 2014

A local wine event hosted by our very own Matthew Brown and wine aficionado Amelia Singer.

Here at Wesley House we have teamed up with an experienced wine industry specialist, created a delicious Tasting Menu and accompanied this with wines all made from the Pinot grape!

An Evening with “Pinot” will be co-hosted by Amelia Singer who has been in the wine industry for a number of years and has recently completed the prestigious WSET Wine Diploma.

Amelia has a long standing affinity with wine, having worked in wineries all around the world, (Bordeaux, Rioja, Chile) as well as with well known retailers, importers and online fine wine merchants (along with exciting new start-ups), she has gained a holistic appreciation of the wine industry.

Amelia’s approach to wine, and her aim, is to demystify the snobbery around wine and empower people when it comes to making wine decisions – either in a supermarket aisle or when the wine list is handed to you in a restaurant. Wine can be extremely serious and intellectual, but it is MEANT to be FUN.

We hope that at the tasting evening you will learn a little more, meet new people and most of all have a BIT of FUN!

Tickets are £60 per person and include an 8 course tasting menu, with fizz & canapés on arrival and tasting wines throughout the evening. Please call Wesley House on 01242 602366 and reserve your table.

Word of mouth and referrals are a sure fire way of cutting down the number of people you need to make contact with!

Set Your Date

Planning your wedding at least a year before the event, means that you have the biggest and varied selection of dates and suppliers together with flexibility.

Choose Your Venue

More often than not, unless you are planning to an exact date years in advance, the availability and choice of venue will drive the actual date of the wedding. Choosing the right venue will most certainly take time, but with a good search of your chosen area, you will be sure to find your most perfect setting for your big day. When both the ceremony and venue arrangements have been chosen, the whole day will then fall into place. With over twenty five years of event and wedding co-ordination here at Wesley House Events we have a “not so little black book” brimming with venues, ranging from cosmopolitan town houses and rustic barns to romantic settings much closer to home such as Sudeley Castle.

The quintessential Sunday lunch in the heart of the Cotswolds

Our French born Head Chef Cedrik Rullier, is a big fan of the traditional British family Sunday roast and takes great pride in not only designing the regularly changing Sunday lunch menu here at Wesley House, but he also enjoys sourcing the local produce to make up his seasonal menus. You only have to peak out of the window of the beautiful and historic Wesley House, to see the local butchers opposite who supply all the Sunday joints!

To start your taste buds twitching, Cedrik has created a fantastic mix of delicious dishes on the new summer A’ la Carte Sunday Lunch menu. So why not try something a little bit different to start with, like the creamy Twice Baked Gruyere Soufflé with pickled beetroot and walnut salad or to celebrate the arrival of summer the light and refreshing taste of Pan Fried Red Mullet-chilled gazpacho, pak choi and clams, sprinkled with wild borage flowers.

Main courses won’t fail to impress with a well balanced selection that includes both fish and vegetarian options. Of course the more traditional dishes boast Pan Roast Guinea Fowl & toasted hazelnut with heritage carrots, spiced butternut squash puree, and a tangy apricot sauce. Plus everyone’s favourite and a real hit with junior diners, Pilcher and Newman, Cotswold Roast Beef, roast potatoes and Tarragon Yorkshire Pudding, with seasonal vegetables and lashings of tasty gravy.

The quality ingredients and exceptional cooking elevate each course and desserts take on a whole new level with Cedrik’s signature Almond Crème Brulée, served alongside lemon puree, mint and yogurt sorbet. What more would you expect from a Frenchman than an exquisite crème brulée but the flavours and culinary influences keep on coming with Vanilla Panna Cotta and mango parfait paired with delicately spiced rum pineapple. For a final triumph of taste there’s Cedrik’s old family recipe with a new twist, Cherry Mousse with sweet raspberry jelly-frangipan sponge, served with mascarpone and ginger ice cream.

Wesley House is undoubtedly the perfect place for an enjoyable Sunday lunch with family and friends. The restaurant offers relaxed family dining for everyone, whatever the age and children under 12 years dine for half price. Be sure to make your next Sunday a family day to remember the ’Wesley Way’, with excellent food, relaxing surroundings and top class service!
